Real Madrid eye Trent Alexander-Arnold for a free transfer in 2025, while considering alternatives and seeking center-backs due to injuries.

Trent has become a top priority transfer target for Real

Real Madrid are gearing up for a big move in the transfer market, and one name at the top of their wish list is Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Trent Alexander-Arnold Real Madrid transfer is something the club is pushing for, but there's a catch ᅳ they're hoping to snap him up for free when his current deal with Liverpool ends in June 2025. Unless he signs a new contract at Anfield, Madrid could start negotiating with him as early as January.

Trent is thinking about what’s next regarding his career. When he was asked about his future while on England duty, he made it clear that he's now in the prime of his career and wants to keep winning.

Other options for Real

While Madrid would like to bring in Alexander-Arnold, they're also keeping their options open in case things don't work out. One player that caught Ancelotti’s attention is the 23-year old Jeremie Frimpong , the Dutch right-back who's been performing great for Bayer Leverkusen. He could be a potential player for Madrid’s fast and attacking style.

Pedro Porro from Tottenham is also on their radar, as well as Juanlu. Juanlu is a 21-year old right-back defender that has been playing for Sevilla since 2022. His contract will expire in 2026. Madrid are making sure they have enough options, but it's clear that Alexander-Arnold is their top target if everything falls into place.

Center-Backs Also on Madrid's Radar

Due to injuries of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba , Madrid are also looking for center-backs to strengthen their defense. One player that looks interesting for them is Aymeric Laporte. The 30 year old defender currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. His contract is set to expire in 2026. Even though he moved to the Saudi League, Laporte is still considered an important player for Spain’s national team. Real is seriously thinking about bringing him in to the team.

Although Laporte isn't the only name in the mix, his experience as a Man City defender makes him a strong candidate to help shore up Madrid's backline. They're also looking at younger options, like Palmeiras' Brazilian talent Vitor Reis and RB Leipzig's French international Castello Lukeba, both of whom have attracted interest from other top European clubs.

Brahim Diaz Shining in Madrid

If we look at the attacking front of Real, Brahim Diaz has been performing well this season. After his return from a loan at AC Milan, he has become an important piece of Carlo Ancelotti’s game. His ability to play in different attacking roles has given Madrid more choices in the front line, and he’s been performing well so far.

David Alaba’s current situation

In spain there have been reports about David Alaba retiring, but sources close to the player have denied this rumour. David doesn’t have any plans of retiring yet. Unfortunately the 32 year old Austrian defender has been dealing with a knee injury for a while now. Madrid are unsure when he will be back again, thus the reason they’re looking for other defensive options.

Winter Transfers are close by

It looks like Real Madrid will have a busy transfer period this winter. The current injuries have left them short-handed, and coach Carlo Ancelotti has been pushing for new players since last season. The last winter signing they had was Brahim Diaz in January 2019. Carvajal’s injury and Alaba’s return in the air, Madrid’s transfer plans for this winter are heating up.
