Real Betis may sign Antony permanently after his strong loan start. CEO Alarcon confirms good relations with Man Utd for a deal

Betis CEO Confirms Possibility of Antony Staying

Real Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon has revealed that there is a "possibility" of making Antony’s loan move from Manchester United permanent following his impressive start in Spain. The Brazilian winger joined Betis on loan in January and has quickly made an impact in La Liga.

Antony's Struggles at Manchester United

Before his move, Antony had struggled to secure playing time at Manchester United, failing to start a single Premier League match under Erik ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy, or current head coach Ruben Amorim. With no clear path to more minutes at Old Trafford, the 24-year-old opted for a fresh start in Spain.

Strong Start at Betis

Antony wasted no time making an impression, starting his first two matches for Betis and earning MVP honors in both games. Despite his standout performances, Betis were unable to secure wins, drawing 2-2 with Athletic Club and losing 3-2 to Celta Vigo. Notably, Antony had only been named Player of the Match once throughout his entire Premier League career.

No Buy Option in Loan Deal

Betis’ agreement with United is a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy. However, when asked about the possibility of a permanent transfer, Alarcon told Radio Sevilla’s Libre y Directo:

“I think so. The other day, the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the plays and details of the player from the whole week so they can see that we are looking after their asset. There is very good chemistry with Manchester United and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”

What’s Next for Antony?

While a final decision has yet to be made, the mutual respect between Betis and United suggests negotiations could take place this summer. If Antony continues to perform at a high level, Betis may push for a permanent deal to keep the Brazilian in Seville beyond the current season.
