In an off-season announcement to fans of all ages, Ajax will be reviving their traditional logo permanently starting in 2025/26. This comedic shift comes in the run up to the club's 125th anniversary celebrations on 18 March 2025, an historic day for one of football's oldest clubs.

"Ajax will mark its 125th anniversary on March 18. We will also be celebrating the return of the original logo," Geelen said. "Most of our fans have always hoped for this, and we thought our 125th year would be the time to bring the old logo back to our fans and ourselves," said Culp.

In Geelen's words, the move is all about staying true to "Ajax DNA". 'Our past has taught us that we are at our best when we stick to our roots,' he concluded. The official unveiling of the logo will be one of the highlight events in the club's 125th-anniversary festivities that will begin today at a sold-out Johan Cruyff Arena. Ajax Legends will face off against Real Madrid Legends at 3:30PM for an exciting show to relive in the memories.

Ernst Boekhorst, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stressed the importance of timing. "It is a perfectly logical time, for the 125th anniversary, to return the logo to the club, to fans and to ourselves. We're thrilled to make such a contribution.
